Fatigue of Cold Recycled Cement-Treated Pavement Layers: Experimental and Modeling Study

چکیده

Fatigue is the main design criterion for cold recycled cement-treated mixtures (CRCTMs). However, literature shows that fatigue behavior of such still not well known. For example, effect increasing reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) contents yet a topic discussion. This experimental and modeling study helps fill knowledge gaps on CRCTM using long-term curing tests three methods currently being used in different countries. The objectives this were: (1) to characterize mechanical RAP, aggregates cement; (2) evaluate life pavements with base subbase layers novel Brazilian method (MeDiNa); (3) compare results those obtained South African Pavement Engineering Manual (SAPEM) transfer functions American Association State Highway Transportation Officials AASHTOWare Mechanistic-Empirical Design (PMED) software. were tested laboratory flexural static cyclic tests, required parameters use obtained. Experimental demonstrated superior higher RAP contents. On other side, lower abruptly lost stiffness short periods, making thicker structures necessary. Therefore, high only sustainable practice, but also technical benefit. equivalent single axle loads SAPEM than MeDiNa, while PMED ones both previous methods. Despite inherent differences, suggests MeDiNa more conservative. It highlights importance calibration based performance data.

Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of the cement treated Cold-in-Place Recycled Asphalt Mixtures

Cold-in-place recycling (CIR) is an environmentally sustainable alternative for preservation of asphalt pavements. A major disadvantage of this practice is the lower strength of the cold-in-place mixtures. Addition of cement into this type of mixture is a method for increasing its bearing capacity. The effect of cement content on the mechanical properties of the cold-in-place recycled asphalt m...

Characterization of Cement Stabilized Pavement Layers with Ultrasound Testing

Original scientific papers Performance of ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) in hydraulically bound mixtures is examined as a non-destructive testing, in order to estimate its potential for pavement material characterization. Test results show that an increase in cement content results in an increase in UPV values. Increase in steel slag aggregate content results in a decrease in UPV values. Analy...

Modeling and Experimental Study of Static Recovery and Mechanical Behavior of AA5052 Alloy During Cold-Working and Subsequent Annealing

In the present study, the mechanical behavior of AA5052 aluminum alloy during cold deformation and subsequent isothermal annealing in a temperature range of 225-300oC was investigated using the uniaxial tensile test data. It is found that by increasing the annealing time and temperature the material yield strength is decreased. The microstructural investigations of the annealed samples show tha...
